Resilience with authenticity and care

Over the years I’ve supported firefighters, paramedics, police, dispatchers, and veterans. I understand the culture and language behind the work, and I offer grounded, holistic trauma therapy in Kelowna and online across BC.

  • First responder–informed (Occupational Awareness + IAFF training)

  • Experience with veterans and transitions to civilian life

  • Trauma and resilience focus, guided by holistic wellness

  • Shift-friendly scheduling (mornings, evenings, online)

  • Private and secure, independent of departments or agencies

Real growth comes from authenticity — showing up as you are and working together toward balance, freedom, and renewed energy.

Who I work with

  • Firefighters (career, paid-on-call, wildland) — supportive firefighter counselling in Kelowna and online

  • Paramedics, dispatchers, and emergency communications across BC

  • Police, corrections, and other first responders (confidential first responder counselling in BC)

  • Veterans and active service members preparing for transition (veteran counselling in BC)

  • Spouses and partners impacted by service life

Common concerns I support

  • Difficulty relaxing or “turning off” after calls

  • Ongoing sleep disruption from shift work

  • Strain in relationships or parenting

  • Emotional numbness, irritability, or burnout

  • Guilt, grief, or moral injury after incidents

  • Loss of identity or direction following retirement or deployment

You don’t have to be in crisis to benefit from counselling. Sometimes it’s about rediscovering connection, ease, and even moments of joy again.

My approach: balance, growth, and freedom

Resilience isn’t about pushing harder — it’s about finding balance. Drawing on trauma-informed and holistic frameworks, we’ll strengthen your nervous system, restore steadiness, and reconnect you with a sense of freedom and growth beyond the uniform.

We may integrate:

  • Cognitive and somatic strategies for stress regulation

  • EMDR or narrative approaches for processing critical events

  • Mind-body awareness and breathing tools for grounding

  • Communication skills for family and team dynamics

  • Mindfulness, purpose, and everyday practices that support joy

My goal is to help you feel grounded and free — strong enough to keep showing up for others, and at peace enough to truly enjoy your own life.

Coverage and accessibility

Many departments, unions, and organizations include strong mental-health benefits, making it easier to access regular support without extra stress.

For veterans, I offer direct billing through Veterans Affairs Canada — simple, supportive access to care (Veterans Affairs counselling in Kelowna and online across BC).

Not sure what your plan covers? I’ll help you clarify your options before we begin.

What makes this work different

  • Culturally informed: I understand the camaraderie, language, and realities of emergency service and the military.

  • Confidential: Records are private and never shared with departments or employers.

  • Family-aware: Partners are welcome when helpful to your goals.

  • Holistic: Attention to mind, body, and emotional balance.

  • Flexible: In-person support for trauma therapy in Kelowna or online counselling for first responders across BC.

This is a place for real conversation and connection — where authenticity, respect, and compassion guide the work.
